As the industry continues to boom and power quality becomes an ever-important topic, paralleled by business growth strategy and new service expansions, Enspec is looking for an ambitious full-time sales manager to help support our sales process. We’re looking for an organized, meticulous, goal-orientated person to help manage and drive our sales pipeline. Most of our leads are warm, coming through our digital pipeline or referrals. Therefore, the bulk of this role centres around two main points. 1. Managing multiple proposals for diverse projects that come through the pipeline, getting the appropriate information from the technical team to build an impactful proposal, and ensuring a seamless customer experience. 2. Assist with tracking the lead source to help advise marketing campaign optimization, reporting on pipeline progress and sales forecasting. This role is a full-time, office-based position requiring travel to sales meetings across the country and possibly abroad.

The Role

  • Keeping an in-detail record of all sales that come through the digital pipeline.
  • Developing detailed proposal decks and quotes specific to clients and projects.
  • Being an intermediary and diary organizer between the client and the appropriate director or technical lead (when needed).
  • Being the first point of contact (accepting all calls) to new business enquiries to qualify the lead, take relevant information on the requirements and project, and set expectations and a timeline for proposal submissions.
  • Regularly checking in and following up on quotes with potential clients.
  • Bid and tender preparation.
  • Updating the finance and production sheet daily, ensuring leads are driven through the pipeline to conversion. Helping the Operations Director/team plan for new work coming through the pipeline.
  • Nurturing leads through activities like sending relevant thought leadership across and invitations to hosted events.
  • Reporting on pipeline progress weekly.
  • Reporting to the marketing team on which leads are converted to optimize marketing strategy.
  • Reporting to the marketing team and assisting in the creation of marketing collateral that will help with conversion.
  • Being a “front of house” face for the company and managing the project through to hand over to the project team, giving a full overview of the sale process and facilitating an introduction to the client.
  • Attending networking events to better understand the industry and build connections.

A typical week would include:

Being front of house for any sales enquiries that come through, discussing project details to build a proposal, and beginning client relationships.

Ensuring quality delivery of proposals, being the main point of contact for potential clients and ensuring proposal delivery in a timely manner.

Organising and attending sales meetings with clients. Attending networking events to expand industry insight and nurture potential client relationships.

Nurturing potential client relationships by sending through relevant thought leadership. Working with the marketing team on thought leadership recommendations to help assist sales conversion rate.

Bid and tender sourcing and preparation.

Finance sheet updating and sales reporting.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Degree or above, preferably in Engineering to understand technical conversations
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Experience keeping a CRM up to date and maximising resources available
  • Goal orientated
  • Detail orientated
  • Good people skills
  • Ensuring potential client requirements when it comes to technical information and proposal deadlines are met.
  • Experience working in a sales environment in the field of electrical engineering. Able to have technical conversations to initiate the sales process.
  • An ability to learn, understand and communicate technical topics
  • Right to work in the UK


– A degree in electrical engineering or equivalent is beneficial as we provide a consultative approach as part of our sales process.

– An interest in conversations including power quality, renewables, sustainability, and net zero, for instance Hydrogen production, BESS, etc. or interest in learning about and these topics.

– A full UK driver’s license is of benefit as some travelling may be involved.

Working Hours, Salary, Holidays

Working days are Monday – Friday, 8am to 4:30pm Monday – Thursday and 8am to 1:30pm on Friday, with a half hour lunch.

Holidays include 20 days plus bank holidays.

This is a full-time position with plenty of development and progression opportunities. Salary from  £25,000 – 45,000 (based on experience) + annual bonus.
