Grid Compliance (The Grid Code) is a code laid down by the transmission system operator (eg. England, Scotland and Wales – NGET) requiring Power Stations to comply with certain standards to ensure a robust network is maintained.
Enspec Power Limited have been assisting windfarm site owners, operators and systems manufacturers in the design, manufacture and supply of this vital equipment.

The majority of VarComp® systems supplied to date are at 33 KV but Enspec have the facilities and capabilities to provide any voltage required.

Windfarms require reactive compensation to operate from 0.95 leading to 0.95 lagging with the VArs maintainable under reduced loading. Reductions in VArs under part load start to apply below 50% MW load. The reactive compensation must also be capable of maintaining zero reactive transfer across all MW loads.

The nature of these site means that the Enspec VarComp® equipment is designed and built to withstand harsh environmental conditions and has a low maintenance profile.
